Researchers from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and the Innovation Center are developing thermally insulated superstructures in cooperation with Uniplast Serbia

The Rapid prototyping project of optimized refrigerated vehicle bodies was approved by the Innovation Fund as part of the Science and Economy Cooperation Program. The project is financed by the Fund for Innovation Activity from the budget of the Republic of Serbia from the section of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development. The consortium agreement between the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Belgrade and the Innovation Center of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering on the one hand, and Uniplast Serbia from Sabac on the other, defines cooperation within this project, which is carried out by the CIAH Laboratory. Out of a large number of submitted projects from various scientific and technological fields and various industrial sectors, the mentioned project, when the market potential was recognized, was on the list of approved ones.

The main applicant for the project is the company Uniplast Serbia, which, among other things, has been engaged in the production of thermally insulated truck superstructures for more than two and a half decades and with which the CIAH Laboratory has a long-term successful cooperation. Uniplast Serbia has recognized the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and the Innovation Center, ie the CIAH Laboratory, as a reliable ally in innovative technological projects with a clear vision of development and a defined business model and commercialization strategy.

The duration of this project is limited to two years, with the aim of improving the production and testing process of thermally insulated chambers by developing software for predicting test results, including a large number of factors. In addition to the employees of Uniplast Serbia, research associates of the CIAH Laboratory will be engaged in the project, who with their knowledge and experience in testing chambers in accordance with the ATP agreement, should contribute to the realization of the business plan and the achievement of defined goals.
